The transformer is the heart of your lighting system and should not be overlooked. Substituting with a cheap, poor quality transformer is not a good idea.  Their life expectancy is only a few years, if that. Certainly, much less than your Highpoint fixtures are going to last.  Simply put, professional grade lighting should operate on a professional grade transformer.
